About Kathy Deggendorfer: An accomplished self taught artist, Kathy studied in workshops from some of her watercolor heros--- Carol Riley, Judy Morris, Judy Hoiness. Her study included works of artists such as Kendall Jubb (color and pattern) and William Matthews (style and line). A love of Sisters, ranch life, the Sisters community and the beauty of the Cascade Mountains are captured in Kathy’s original watercolors. "My work reflects my environment . . . if it's primrose season . . . they just appear in the painting. If it's winter and the magpies are eating the cat food before the cat does . . . there'll be some magpies hopping off my brush," stated Kathy Deggendorfer. In 2005, Kathy was awarded ‘Citizen of the Year’ in Sisters Oregon for her contributions to the community and the arts and selected as the 2007 Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show™ poster artist.
